Meet the lucky Cairn Terriers brought into the Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network in 2008. This is our fourth year to have a comprehensive listing of all terriers accepted by our rescue group. Our ability to rescue this tremendous amount of Cairns is ONLY due to the hard but rewarding work of our many Volunteers as well as your financial support of our Cairn Rescue Mall, Corporate Affiliate Programs, Grandparent and Guardian Angel Programs as well as the many Direct Donations with which you have been so generous. IMPORTANT - The dogs on this page are not necessarily available for adoption. If you have applied to adopt a cairn from CPCRN, ONLY the dogs listed on the AVAILABLE CAIRNS page are currently available for adoption.
This foster dog pictorial is to show ALL dogs that passed through CPCRN this year. It DOES NOT show Cairns available for adoption on any particular date. While all of our foster dogs for the current year will be listed here, many may not be available for adoption immediately OR AT ALL. Some will be in the process of being adopted, many will be already adopted, and others may be in our "FOSTER TO ADOPT" program. CPCRN evaluates the temperament and health of our dogs prior to any adoption availability and brings them current on their medical needs. Sadly some dogs we take in will NEVER be adopted because of health or temperament issues. PLEASE check the Available Cairns page to check on AVAILABLE dogs. Also, since this is a yearly listing, many on this list may have already been adopted.

| The Infamous Missouri Women! |

Belle Starr was a prim and proper souther lady until the Civil War when her brother was killed. Belle went on a rampage looking for her brother's killers, in turn killing and wreaking havoc wherever she went. She was known as the Bandit Queen.
Carrie Nation became a big player in the temperance movement just before prohibition. Carrie Nation was a big woman (nearly 6' tall) and went all over the midwest smashing saloons with an ax.
Not to worry! These dogs are real Southern sweeties!

| Latin Dancers Grace CP! |

The Bolero originated in the late 18th century in Spain. The dance traveled to cuba and eventually spread to other Latin American countries. It has been called the "most popular lyric tradition in Latin America".
The Mambo originated in the late 1940's of Cuban origin and is rhythmically similar to the slower Bolero. Mambo is at the roots of the Salsa dance and is a part of the American Rhythm group of American Style ballroom dances.
The Tango originated in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Montevideo, Uruguay in the 1850's and soon spread to the rest of the world. Today there are many Tango dance styles.

A PM in Missouri lost his license (for the second time) and had to sell his entire stock including breeders and puppies. CPCRN made him a flat price offer for EVERY Cairn he had there!!! First attempt, the offer was turned down but then ... DEAL!!!! We had just brought TWENTY FIVE (25) Cairns into the loving arms of Col. Potter!!!
We were ten away from rescuing #2000 Cairn in the history of Col. Potter ... we not only got #2000 but are now working on our next thousand!!!!!! |

Four Freedoms
President Franklin Roosevelt delivered the Four Freedoms Speech to Congress on Jaunuary 6, 1941. The four freedoms Roosevelt spoke of are the basic rights everyone in the world should enjoy: 1) Freedom of Speech 2) Freedom of Worship 3) Freedom from Want and 4) Freedom from Fear. Dogs that exist in puppymills have no freedom, no voices, dream of a better life, live in fear and only want what they can't have.

SINGING WITH JOY, AGAIN!
FREEDOM FLIERS II HAVE LANDED!!
Last month a group of furkids flew the PM coop with a safe landing in CP. We were told there would be more coming once nursing moms weaned pups. Yesterday the second group of Freedom Fliers took flight. 18 furkids enjoyed the flight to freedom including 5 puppies 3 months and under.

It DOES NOT show Cairns available for adoption on any particular date. While all of our foster dogs for the current year will be listed here, many may not be available for adoption immediately OR AT ALL. Some will be in the process of being adopted, many will be already adopted, and others may be in our "FOSTER TO ADOPT" program. CPCRN evaluates the temperament and health of our dogs prior to any adoption availability and brings them current on their medical needs. Sadly some dogs we take in will NEVER be adopted because of health or temperament issues. PLEASE check the website for the current status and availability.
