Faces of Rescue
July to December 2007

Meet the lucky Cairn Terriers brought into the Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network in 2007. This is our fourth year to have a comprehensive listing of all terriers accepted by our rescue group. Our ability to rescue this tremendous amount of Cairns is ONLY due to the hard but rewarding work of our many Volunteers as well as your financial support of our Cairn Rescue Mall, Corporate Affiliate Programs, Grandparent and Guardian Angel Programs as well as the many Direct Donations with which you have been so generous. Thank you from all of us.

IMPORTANT - The dogs on this page are not necessarily available for adoption. If you have applied to adopt a cairn from CPCRN, ONLY the dogs listed on the AVAILABLE CAIRNS page are currently available for adoption.

This foster dog pictorial is to show ALL dogs that passed through CPCRN this year. It DOES NOT show Cairns available for adoption on any particular date. While all of our foster dogs for the current year will be listed here, many may not be available for adoption immediately OR AT ALL. Some will be in the process of being adopted, many will be already adopted, and others may be in our "FOSTER TO ADOPT" program. CPCRN evaluates the temperament and health of our dogs prior to any adoption availability and brings them current on their medical needs. Sadly some dogs we take in will NEVER be adopted because of health or temperament issues. PLEASE check the Available Cairns page to check on AVAILABLE dogs. Also, since this is a yearly listing, many on this list may have already been adopted.

FIVE little Cairns found their way to freedom from a PA breeder and into Col. Potter. These five have the distinct honor of being Pat's Kids with their Guardian Angel Pat McKinney to watch over them. With the anniversary of 9/11, our minds have reflected back to those horrendous scenes of panic and terror from that day. We all know about the thousands of victims and many of the heroes of that day and the days that followed. Some of those heroes and victims were of the 4-legged variety.

Col. Potter has taken in nine wonderful Cairns to enjoy new-found freedom. In honor of 9/11, these rescued kids are named after nine incredible rescue dogs who made a difference at Ground Zero.

The Autumnal Equinox Goddesses!

Demeter was Goddess of the Earth, the Mother of the Harvest.

Demeter's daughter became Persephone after being taken from her mother. When Persephone is allowed to spend six months a year with her mother, Demeter, spring begins at the start of her visit and autumn occurs when Persephone must return to her husband, Hades.

Modron is the Great Goddess, Guardian of the Otherworld, Protector and Healer.

Welcome the Witch Legends!

There are many tales and legends about various witches around the world and throughout the ages. Witches have been known to cast spells and brew up magical potions, both good and bad. Our Witch Legends have lived a life filled with evil spells and nasty potions up to this point. That will all change now that they are CP kids and they will learn about the "good" witches and wonderful spells and potions they will now enjoy in their life of freedom.

The Wine Vineyards

Raise your glasses to toast CP's newest kids, the Wine Vineyards. These five cairns joined our family Saturday, finding a safe haven for their frightened souls. They are scared right now as they face so many changes. Like all fine wines, they will improve with time, nurturing, optimal conditions, and patience.

Two Faces of Freedom

Two young males have won their freedom! They are approximately one year old and they have been named Gary and Tigger, both donated names to our Name a PM Kid Program. We thank the donor for helping CP rescue these kids! These two boys are adorable, friendly and seek human attention and companionship. They probably felt grass under their paws for the first time when they arrived at the vet's office and were taken outside as neither of them knew what to make of the grass and were actually a little frightened to step on it. But their lives are about to change forever for the better as a CP Kid!!

Welcome Kahuna, Waimea, Wailua, and Hanalie!

IMPORTANT - If you have applied to adopt a cairn from CPCRN, ONLY the dogs listed on the AVAILABLE CAIRNS page are currently available for adoption. You can view all Cairns currently available for adoption here: Available Cairns

PLEASE check the website for the current status and availability. Again, the Available Cairns page is the place to check on AVAILABLE dogs.
