Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network Faces of Rescue 2004 X-Girls - Storm and Rogue
		I am very pleased to "Officially" Introduce Storm and Rogue our two new little girls. The girls were born 6/7/04 to a Puppy Mill girl. Their momma was not able to have the litter on her own, so after a very long and intense labor the "breeder" took her to a Missouri Vet that Col. Potter often uses to see if she could help the momma deliver the babies. Their momma was fading fast... The Vet told the owner that at this point an emergency C-Section was the only option and the breeder didn't have the money (or want to spend the money) to follow through, so she surrendered her to the vet.
The vet called me and told me what was going on, and with the full support of the Board of Directors we made the decision to do the C-Section and try to save both momma and puppies. There were 7 babies in all - 4 were already dead, and three were born alive... The little boy who survived the birth, lived only a couple hours, and then the worst news of all, the Momma died - her little body was just two worn out... Storm and Rogue were now orphaned. The vet did some quick thinking and was able to come up with someone who had a dog that had just had a litter of puppies, so our girls were accepted into her litter as surrogate puppies , and eight weeks later are ready to find a family of their own.
Storm - is the smaller (and more vocal) of the two - She is fearless and very social!!	Storm and Rogue were named after two characters of the X-Men comic books. So without further ado, Please welcome our own "Super" kids!!	Rogue - is a little shy, but once she knows you, she is happy to sit and cuddle...

8/16/04 Just a note here to tell you that Rogue and Storm went to the vet today for a check up, and their sniffles are pneumonia. Aly's vet would have kept them if there was a grave concern here. It's just sad that with what they have been through thus far that they are sick. So they are getting treated by Uncle Danny, foster Dad with all kinds of meds. OF COURSE Uncle Danny and Grandma Aly had to stop at the pet store and load up on puppy toys for them . . . They weigh 3 pounds each.
