| Rescuing cairns isn't just about getting them out of the puppy mill or shelter. A rescued dog may also need to be rescued from poor health, behavioral problems, and fears caused by the mistreatment they have received. After a dog is brought into the Colonel Potter organization by the Intakes team, he or she is taken to a vet to be brought up to date on all shots and spayed or neutered. After a quarantine period they are ready to be placed in a foster home to finish the rescuing process. This is when the Foster Home Administration team gets to work. They manage 75 currently active foster homes, tracking the progress of each of the current 90+ dogs being fostered and helping each foster home give the best care and attention possible.

One of the most popular attractions on the Col. Potter website is the Available Dogs (aka Available Cairns) page. This is where our adoptive homes first read about their future family member and where our foster homes get to "wax poetic" on the joys of their perfect foster dog. We often hear from folks who visit our page daily even if they don't want to adopt or foster - they just love seeing reading heartwarming stories and seeing the progress of the Col's kids. |

In conjunction with National Homemakers Month in April, the
Celebration Team is developing a guide for your reading (and using)
pleasure. Here are the topics:
This guide will include tips, stories and pictures from YOU on how your dogs help make your home a wonderful place to be. Here is your easy to read reference guide that you can use anytime you think you want to throw out your dog. Don't bring in that expensive decorator, a cleaning team, or spend a lot of money to redo your home - refer to the guide and you will find ideas that your very own fur face can help you with! |

![]() Join with us to create a series of CPCRN Celebration Cairn Quilts this year to help in fundraising for our rescue efforts. These quilts will be in groups of 4, 6, and 12 blocks created by those who want to help, and will be assembled and quilted by crafting members of CPCRN. Of course, anyone who wants to create an entire quilt is more than welcome, but even a single block will move us toward our goal.
